Federal Minister of Works Inspects  Federal Roads Cut off in Bauchi State.

The Minister of Works Engineer David Umahi has embarked on Assessment tour of the Federal roads washed away by flood in some parts of Bauchi State..



It could be recalled  that   Flood had recently cut off the Kano-Maiduguri Federal Highway at various points in Katagum, Shira Giade and Jama'are local Government Areas, in addition to Other Major roads across the state.


Earlier the Minister paid a courtsey call to the State Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir  Muhammed of Bauchi at the government house.



The Minister Engineer David Umahi said the visit was directed by President Tinubu, to assess the damage and find solutions to the  problem.



He Commended the Bauchi state government's quick intervention in repairing the damaged roads, which brought relief to commuters.



Umahi saluted the state government's  efforts, and assured that all abandoned road contracts would be revisited, warning the contractors to return to site or faced contract revocation. 



He said that the move is aim at injecting new life into the stalled projects, boosting economic activities and connecting communities.



The Bauchí State Governor Bala Mohammed  made a passionate appeal to the Federal Government to extend its Legacy Roads projects to the North east region, connect the area to the rest of the country and unlocking its vast potentials for development.



Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammed commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration for its numerous legacy projects across the nation but urged for the inclusion of the North east region in the scheme.



Governor Bala commended the Minister's timely response to abandoned road projects, plead for more synergy between the federal and state governments to accelerate development. 



He said The federal government's response will be crucial in unlocking its potential, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for its people.



Governor Bala accompanied the minister to the places affected by flood in the State.
