Misilli Foundation Enrolls Another Batch of Children into Schools to Combat Out-of-School Crisis in Gombe.

The Misilli Community Development Foundation, founded by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Spokesman to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has continued its mission of enrolling orphans and children from less privileged backgrounds back into school in Gombe.
The initiative, which is in line with the Gombe State government's efforts to reduce the number of out-of-school children, saw the enrollment of its second batch of pupils.
During a ceremony held in Dawaki Ward, Gombe, the foundation enrolled an additional 50 children, bringing the total number of pupils enrolled under the programme to 100 in just two years.
The foundation, which has been at the forefront of educational support, previously enrolled 50 pupils and 30 students at both secondary school and university levels last year.
These beneficiaries, drawn from various homes in Dawaki Quarters, have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to continue their education, with many citing the significant impact the scholarships have had on their lives.
Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the new round of enrollments, the Commissioner of Education, Ass. Prof. Aishatu Maigari, who was represented by the Director of School Services at the Ministry, Malam Yusuf Abubakar, commended the foundation for this wonderful efforts, assuring for possible collaboration to ensure the educational activities of the foundation are supported by the administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
“What Misilli has done goes beyond education—this is about transforming lives, empowering the next generation, and giving hope to those who might have been left behind", the Commissioner stated.
She further emphasized that his actions serve as a model for other individuals and organizations, urging more people to contribute towards community development and support for the underserved.
The Gombe State Head of Service, Ahmed Kasimu Abdullahi, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Service Matters, Sulaiman Musa Kwami praised the DG Press for his selfless service and consistent dedication to improving the lives of the less privileged, particularly through his efforts to combat the out-of-school children crisis in Gombe State.
He noted Misilli’s leadership in driving impactful change within the community, not only through education but also in other social spheres.
The Gombe Local Government Education Secretary Abubakar Baba and the Councillor representing Dawaki Ward, Umar Musa, recognized the foundation’s efforts in uplifting vulnerable children, ensuring they have access to quality education, and securing a brighter future for them.
The Founder of the Misilli Community Development Foundation, who spoke through his brother, Barr. Lawan Uba Misilli, noted that the initiative is driven by the belief that education is a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty.
“Our aim is to give every child the opportunity to dream big and achieve their goals, regardless of their background. We are committed to making sure that every child in Dawaki, especially orphans and the vulnerable , have access to quality education. This is just the beginning, and we will continue to push for greater inclusivity in our educational system in this community", Misilli said.
He further revealed that the foundation has plans to expand the programme beyond its current scope to cover the entire state, targeting more orphans and vulnerable children.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the Foundation, Yusuf Hamza, highlighted that the scholarships cover tuition fees, school materials, and other necessary educational resources, ensuring that beneficiaries have the support they need to thrive in their academic journey.
The event was attended by the Gombe State Head of Service, Alh. Kasimu Ahmed Abdullahi (represented), Director-Generals of Gombe State Media Corporation and Gombe State Transport Service, Ibrahim Isa and Sani Sabo, SSA to the Governor, Suleiman Musa Arzoo, representative of Senior District Head of Gombe, Alh. Yaya Hammari, District Head of Malam Inna and Kagarawal, other government officials, community leaders as well as many well wishers and partners across the state.
