Bauchi, February 4, 2025 – In a major security operation, the Bauchi State Police Command has arrested six individuals for vandalizing electricity installations and three others for gender-based violence, including child abuse and abduction.
Electricity Vandals Nabbed
The six suspects were apprehended following a series of coordinated efforts by law enforcement officers. Police investigations revealed that on December 25, 2024, Hamza Mohammed (20) and Mustapha Sa’idu (22) allegedly conspired to steal from a home in Rafin Tambari, Bauchi. They reportedly carted away two vehicle tyres and two bags of cement worth ₦249,000.
Further inquiries uncovered that on January 14, 2025, the same duo, alongside Aliyu Musa, allegedly vandalized an aluminum electric conductor belonging to the Jos Electricity Distribution Company (JED) at Tambari Housing Estate. The stolen materials were reportedly set to be sold to a known buyer, Al-Ameen Ibrahim, at an undisclosed location.
