Governor Inuwa Yahaya Hosts APC Leadership for Iftar, Announces Key Development Initiatives

Gombe, March 12, 2025 – Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has hosted the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both state and local government levels to a special Iftar, reaffirming his commitment to party unity, governance excellence, and infrastructure development in Gombe State.

Speaking during the event, Governor Yahaya expressed gratitude to the APC leadership for their continued support since the inception of his administration. He credited their dedication and sacrifices for the party’s victories in the 2019 and 2023 elections, noting that his government has delivered on numerous campaign promises.

“We may face challenges, but our strength as a party lies in our unity,” the governor stated. “I want to reassure you of my commitment to promoting cohesion within the party and ensuring that our policies continue to deliver democratic dividends to the people of Gombe State.”

Gratuity Payment for Retirees

As part of his administration’s welfare initiatives, Governor Yahaya announced the approval of an additional tranche of gratuities for local government retirees. He emphasized that this move is part of his government’s ongoing efforts to clear outstanding entitlements inherited from previous administrations.

Road Construction Projects

In furtherance of the state’s urban development agenda, the governor revealed plans to award contracts for the construction of roads in the Family Homes Estate and the New Shongo Gardens Layout. He explained that the projects aim to improve accessibility and boost economic activities in these areas.

APC Leadership Backs Governor’s Administration

Speaking on behalf of the party, APC State Chairman Nitte K. Amangal commended Governor Yahaya for his progressive leadership and commitment to development. He reaffirmed the party’s unwavering support for his administration, emphasizing that they remain aligned with his vision for the state.

Also present at the event were Deputy Governor Manassah Daniel Jatau, Ph.D., Deputy Speaker Hon. Sadam Bello, members of the State House of Assembly, Secretary to the State Government Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, and other senior government officials.

The Iftar gathering, a tradition upheld by Governor Yahaya during Ramadan, served as a platform to strengthen political solidarity and reinforce his administration’s development agenda for Gombe State.
