Bauchi Flags Off 2025 Hajj: Governor Bala Sends Off 2,510 Pilgrims with Words of Prayer and Caution
By Abdulwahab Muhammad BauchÃ
It’s that time of the year again when thousands of faithful Muslims prepare for the journey of a lifetime — the Hajj pilgrimage to the holy cities of Makkah and Madina. This year, 2,510 lucky pilgrims from Bauchi State are among those set to take part in the 2025 Hajj, and they just received a warm and inspiring send-off from the state government.
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Mohammed Auwal Jatau, addressed the intending pilgrims during a farewell ceremony at the Sultan Sa’ad Hajj Camp in Bauchi. His message? Make the most of this spiritual opportunity — and carry the hopes and prayers of Bauchi with you.
“I congratulate you all for being chosen out of millions of Muslims worldwide. This is not just a journey, it’s a blessing,” the governor said. “Please devote your time to prayers, not only for yourselves but for the peace and unity of Bauchi and Nigeria.”
The Governor assured the pilgrims that the state government has done its part to make the journey smooth. From comfortable accommodation near the Grand Mosque in Makkah to full medical support and safe air travel with Max Air, everything has been arranged.
All pilgrims have also been fully vaccinated against meningitis and yellow fever, and a team of medical personnel is on standby to support them during their stay in Saudi Arabia.
Governor Bala didn’t shy away from offering a gentle reminder: “Please avoid any behavior that could reflect badly on Bauchi or Nigeria. This is a sacred journey—treat it as such.”
Leading the state’s Hajj delegation this year is none other than the Emir of Jama’are, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Wabi, who promised to work closely with all relevant bodies to ensure Bauchi pilgrims have the best possible experience.
As the first flights prepare to take off from the Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, the atmosphere is filled with anticipation, reflection, and hope.
To all our pilgrims—may your prayers be answered, your steps be easy, and your Hajj accepted. Safe travel.
