Background: NUC Accreditation Visit
This achievement follows the NUC’s visit to SAZU on 22nd November 2024 as part of its nationwide accreditation exercise. In a letter dated 30th April 2025, the NUC, through its Executive Secretary, confirmed the accreditation in line with Section 10 (1) of the Education Act CAP E3, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004.
This section empowers the NUC to set minimum academic standards for all degree programmes in Nigerian universities and to accredit such programmes accordingly.
What This Means for SAZU
With these programmes now accredited, SAZU is better positioned to compete with other top-tier universities across the country. The university remains steadfast in its mission to produce graduates who are not only academically sound but also equipped to make meaningful contributions to society.
“We are proud of this achievement, but we view it as a stepping stone—not a destination,” Prof. Tahir added. “Our goal is to continue raising the bar in research, innovation, and service delivery.”
