Bauchi State is mourning the loss of one of its distinguished public servants, Alhaji Abubakar Jafar Ilelah, who until his death served as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Public Enlightenment.
His passing was confirmed in an official statement from the office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Comrade Mukhtar Gidado. The statement disclosed that the late Ilelah died after a brief illness.
Alhaji Ilelah, who also held the traditional title of Wakilin Sadarwan Bauchi in the Bauchi Emirate Council, was renowned for his excellence in public relations, grassroots mobilization, and commitment to community service. His contributions to governance, public enlightenment, and the traditional institution earned him respect across political and cultural divides.
In a condolence message, Governor Bala Mohammed described the late SSA as a man of integrity, a patriot, and a unifying figure who dedicated his life to the service of his people.
“Ilelah was more than a government official—he was a bridge between the people and the leadership. His wisdom, humility, and sense of duty made him a rare asset to our administration and the state at large,” the Governor said.
Governor Bala extended heartfelt condolences on behalf of the government and people of Bauchi State to the Ilelah family, the Bauchi Emirate Council, the media community, and all those affected by this painful loss. He prayed for Allah’s mercy upon the deceased and strength for the bereaved.
