Bauchi Speaker Empowers 1,000 Students with Educational Materials

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y. Suleiman, has distributed educational materials to 1,000 students in Ningi Local Government Area through his Nabalango Foundation. The initiative, aimed at promoting education and supporting academic development, was launched during a ceremony held in Ningi on Saturday.

Speaking at the event, the Speaker reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing education among young people in the state.

“We are dedicated to supporting the educational needs of our children and youth. This initiative underscores our commitment to promoting learning and empowering the next generation of leaders,” Suleiman stated.

He also assured residents that the State Assembly would continue to prioritize education and other critical sectors.

“On behalf of all Honorable Members of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, I promise to continue working within the law to improve the lives of the people we represent. Education, in particular, will remain a priority,” he added.

Governor’s Commitment to Education

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, represented at the event by Deputy Speaker Jamilu Dahiru, reiterated the administration’s commitment to prioritizing education in the state’s annual budget.

“My administration recognizes the critical role of education in driving development. We will continue to invest in education and support initiatives that promote learning and academic excellence,” the Governor said.

Stakeholders Applaud Initiative

The Chairman of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Dr. Nasiru Ahmad Ala, described the initiative as a timely intervention to support students and strengthen education in the region.

“We will work with all stakeholders to sustain and expand such initiatives that contribute to the academic development of our youth,” Dr. Ala said.

Ningi Local Government Chairman, Nasiru Zakarai Dankasuwa, commended the Speaker and the Nabalango Foundation for their dedication to improving education in the area.

“This initiative will have a lasting positive impact on our community. We encourage parents and students to make the best use of these materials to improve their academic performance,” Dankasuwa stated.

The distribution of free reading and writing materials is part of the Nabalango Foundation’s efforts to enhance education across Bauchi State, aligning with broader state government objectives to empower the youth and drive development through education.
