Governor Bala Mohammed Announces Key Appointments, Swaps Heads of Educational Boards

Bauchi, February 4, 2025 – Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has approved key appointments and a reshuffling of leadership within the state's educational institutions.

In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the governor appointed Barrister Mohammed Sani Umar as the Acting Head of Civil Service and Yahuza Adamu Haruna as the Chief Economic Adviser.

Umar, who previously served as the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Head of Civil Service, is expected to bring his legal expertise and administrative experience to enhance efficiency within the civil service. Meanwhile, Haruna, the immediate past Head of Civil Service, will now advise the government on economic planning and policy to drive sustainable development.

In addition, Governor Mohammed approved the swapping of two chairmen of educational boards. Dr. Abubakar Surinbai Dahiru Bauchi, previously chairman of Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP), will now lead the board of AD Rufa’i College of Education, Legal and Islamic Studies. In turn, Senator Lawan Yahaya Gumau, who previously chaired AD Rufa’i College, will now head ATAP.

The new appointees will be sworn in on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the Council Chamber, Government House, Bauchi, at 10 a.m.

The appointments reflect the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance, improving the civil service, and enhancing economic management in Bauchi State.
