The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Youth Concern Forum in Gombe State has issued a strong appeal to former Vice President and Waziri of Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, urging him to make youth inclusion a top priority in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at a press conference held at AY Guest House, Gombe, the forum’s chairman, Jamilu Adamu Danjarida, emphasized the need for a renewed focus on empowering young people within the party’s structure and across political leadership roles.
Danjarida reaffirmed the group’s loyalty to the PDP at both state and national levels, pledging active participation in all party activities moving forward. He highlighted the importance of providing capable youth with real opportunities to contribute meaningfully to governance and party development.
In a bold move that reflects the forum’s forward-thinking stance, the group suggested that if necessary, Alhaji Atiku should consider stepping aside in 2027 to allow younger candidates to emerge and lead the party into the future.
“This is not about disrespect, but about building a legacy. We believe youth inclusion is key to PDP’s revival and national development,” Danjarida said.
The statement from the Gombe PDP Youth Forum adds to growing national conversations around generational leadership change, especially as the country approaches another crucial election cycle.
