Bauchi State Pushes for Economic Breakthrough in China: Delegation Arrives in Jinan to Cement Investment Partnerships
In a significant move aimed at transforming Bauchi State’s economy and unlocking global opportunities, a delegation led by the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Aminu Hammayo, has landed in Jinan City, Shandong Province of China. The visit is part of the International Friendship Cities Cooperation Exchange Week, a strategic platform for building economic and development partnerships across nations.
This mission is more than just diplomacy—it’s a direct effort by the Bauchi State Government to bring home real investments that will create jobs, boost local industries, and grow the state’s economy.
From Friendship to Fortune: A Strategic Sister-State Alliance
The Bauchi State Government had earlier established a Sister-State relationship with Shandong Province—a bold step to open up Bauchi to international collaboration in key economic sectors. This strategic alliance is already yielding tangible results.
One major breakthrough is the creation of a joint venture company between the Bauchi State Government and Shandong Minsheng Group. The new company, Bauchi Minsheng Cooperation Company Ltd (BMCC Nig. Ltd), is expected to play a leading role in:
- Exploration and mining of solid minerals
- Processing and value addition
- Trading and export of mineral resources
This development means new industries, skilled jobs, and local empowerment for communities rich in untapped mineral resources. It will also help the state generate much-needed internal revenue outside of federal allocations.
Site Inspection for Transparency and Confidence
On arrival in Jinan, the delegation visited the Dongping Chanlong Stone Sites operated by Minsheng Group. This was to ensure that the prospective partners have the technical capacity, environmental safety measures, and operational integrity to operate successfully and sustainably in Bauchi.
The Group’s General Manager, Mrs. Liu Shona, reaffirmed their commitment to investing in solid minerals and agriculture in Bauchi, promising to transfer modern technology, skills, and expertise to support the state’s industrial and economic development.
What It Means for the People of Bauchi
This visit is not just a foreign trip—it is a calculated economic mission that holds real promise for the people of Bauchi State. Here’s how:
- Job Creation: Local youths will benefit from new employment opportunities in mining, processing, and logistics.
- Technology Transfer: The partnership will bring in international best practices, tools, and knowledge to modernize local industries.
- Economic Diversification: By focusing on solid minerals and agriculture, Bauchi is reducing its overdependence on federal allocations.
- Revenue Generation: A more productive economy means more internally generated revenue for the state—funds that can be used for education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
- Entrepreneurial Growth: Local businesses stand to benefit from new markets, partnerships, and business-friendly reforms.
A Delegation of Visionaries
The delegation includes top government officials, commissioners, the Director General of ICT, and entrepreneurs from Bauchi State. Their presence signals a clear message: Bauchi is ready for business.
This is part of Governor Bala Mohammed’s broader vision to make Bauchi an investment destination, drive industrialization, and build a resilient, people-focused economy.
