GATEWAY GAMES 2024: Bauchi Athletes Set to reciprocate Govt Gesture -- Says Bauchi Sports Director

The Bauchi State Sports Director, Ado Tanko, has expressed optimism that the state contingent at the on-going 22nd National Sports Festival tagged Gateway Games will do their best to make the state proud, considering the huge amount of money invested in the project by the state Government.
 
Ado Tanko, explained that Bauchi State Sports Council Stormed Abeokuta Venue of the long awaited National gathering with 162 athletes, 53 officials including organizing Secretaries, Coaches, Sports Journalists and acompaning Security personnel  to fly the states' flag at the 22nd edition in 22 sporting events including, boxing, tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, handball, gymnastics, judo, chess, swimming, volleyball, Scrabble, Taekwondo, karate, golf, athletics and others.
 
The overseeing Sports Director  at the opening ceremony of game held Sunday at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, informed our Correspondent that the athletes had undergone intensive Open and close Camp training and were well motivated to give the state their very best to win medals to justify the confidence repose in them as demonstrated during training.
He assured that the athletes will do the needful when hostilities begin across game venues.

Saying " as you can see during the opening ceremony how our athletes beautifully dressed and performed at match pass.

He Commended Bauchi State Government under the sports loving Governor Bala Mohammed for timely release of funds that made it possible for council to prepare for the National Festival in good time. Also appreciated the cooperation, understanding and fast role played by the state Ministry of youth 
and sports Development that facilitated timely arrival of the state contingents in Abeokuta.

He described the Commissioner Hon. Adamu Gabarin as workaholic.
