The Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in collaboration with the Wife of the Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya (Dr) Aishatu Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, hosted a National Prayer Session for Peace, Unity, and Progress, followed by the distribution of food items to vulnerable citizens under the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

The event, themed “The National Prayer Session for Peace, Unity, and Progress,” served as a solemn moment for national reflection and collective spiritual renewal in the face of prevailing socio-economic and security challenges.

The prayer session drew participation from religious leaders, government officials, women’s groups, youth representatives, and community stakeholders, all united in seeking divine intervention for peace and prosperity in Bauchi State and across Nigeria.

In her remarks, Hajiya Aishatu Bala Mohammed, who is also the North East Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, described the event as a demonstration of shared values and unity in difficult times.

“This prayer session, organized in collaboration with my office and that of the Wife of the President, is a testament to our collective commitment to fostering peace, unity, and harmony among the people of Bauchi State and our beloved nation,” she said.

She emphasized that the Renewed Hope Initiative goes beyond spiritual renewal, also providing practical support to uplift communities. As part of this effort, the event featured the distribution of essential food items to those in need.

“Our strength as a people lies in our unity, and our faith is a powerful force for transformation. Today, we pray not only for Bauchi State but for the entire country. We pray for peace, healing, and the prosperity of our dear nation,” she added.

According to Hajiya Aishatu, the food relief package included:

  • 2,200 bags of rice (500 bags already distributed, others on the way)
  • 300 cartons of vegetable oil
  • 1,200 cartons of spaghetti
  • 500 bags of sugar

“While we initially aimed to distribute larger quantities, we are grateful for the support received and remain dedicated to ensuring these provisions reach those most in need,” she noted.

Beyond emergency aid, the Renewed Hope Initiative has launched several empowerment programs aimed at promoting self-reliance among women and youth in Bauchi State. These include:

  • Youth Agricultural Support Program: 100 youths trained with N9.2 million disbursed in financial support.
  • Women Agricultural Support Program: 150 women empowered with a total of N36 million.
  • Every Home A Garden Initiative: 60 women supported with home gardening skills and grants worth N9.2 million.

“These programs are designed to empower individuals, promote self-sufficiency, and contribute to the overall development of our communities,” said Hajiya Aishatu.

She called for continued collaboration to build a united and prosperous society, expressing appreciation to Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her unwavering commitment to the welfare of Nigerians.

“Let us continue to work hand in hand to build a peaceful, prosperous, and harmonious Bauchi State and Nigeria,” she concluded.

In their separate remarks, religious leaders who led the prayer session commended the initiative and urged its continuity. They called on government at all levels to introduce more people-centered programs to ease the plight of ordinary citizens.

They offered prayers for sustainable peace across Nigeria’s 36 states and divine intervention to end the country’s security and economic challenges.
