Darazo Women Vow to Raise N50 Million for Buba’s Governorship Ticket

Senator Shehu Buba of Bauchi South has received a significant boost in his rumored 2027 governorship ambition as key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and influential women groups from Bauchi Central Senatorial District declared their full support for his candidacy.
At a consultative town hall meeting held in Misau, stakeholders from Misau, Darazo, Dambam, Ningi, Ganjuwa, and Warji LGAs gathered to endorse the senator as their preferred aspirant for the governorship race.
The meeting was convened by Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Sade, Chairman of the Contact and Mobilisation Committee for Senator Buba’s governorship project.
“We chose Senator Buba not only for his competence, but because of his deep compassion for the people and his ability to unite diverse interests. He has gone beyond his senatorial duties to serve the entire state,” Sade said.
Sade noted that while the group is committed to the unity of the APC and will support any candidate that emerges from the primaries, their strong preference remains for Shehu Buba, whose growing popularity and record of service make him a standout contender.
Darazo Women Mobilize for Buba’s Ticket
One of the highlights of the event came from Rashida Abubakar Mohammed, APC Women Leader in Darazo, who declared that women from her area had resolved to contribute financially toward Senator Buba’s gubernatorial ambition.
“He is a lawmaker who cares. He has supported us in Darazo even without our asking. That is why we’ve agreed to raise funds to buy his nomination form—even if it means contributing ₦50 million, we’re ready,” she said, drawing thunderous applause.
She emphasized the women’s readiness to campaign and mobilize for Senator Buba across the state, calling on him to respond to the overwhelming call to serve.
Statewide Support Mounts Despite Silence from Buba
Although Senator Shehu Buba has not formally declared his intent to contest for governor, there is increasing evidence of grassroots mobilization across the state.
His supporters have begun erecting billboards, posters, and banners in major towns, painting a picture of a politician with a growing statewide appeal and a clear governance vision.
“Shehu Buba is not only a rallying point for our party and Bauchi State—he is a symbol of unity nationwide,” Alhaji Sade added.
