As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah, urging them to reflect on the core values of the sacred festival—sacrifice, obedience, compassion, and faith.
In a goodwill message issued in Gombe, the Governor called on Muslims to submit wholeheartedly to the will of Almighty Allah, drawing inspiration from the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), whose unwavering faith and obedience continue to serve as a powerful spiritual lesson.
“As we mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, let us reflect on its true meaning—total submission, obedience, selflessness, and unwavering faith,” the Governor said.
He emphasized that the teachings of Islam—peace, modesty, love, and tolerance—must guide both personal conduct and the collective aspirations of the people.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya encouraged Muslims to take advantage of this solemn occasion to offer special prayers for peace, unity, and progress in Gombe State and Nigeria at large. He also stressed the importance of supporting those in leadership through prayers and constructive engagement.
While commending the roles played by traditional institutions, religious leaders, and citizens in promoting harmony and development, the Governor reassured the people of his administration's resolve to consolidate gains and deliver on his promises.
“We have completed 75 percent of our mandate and remain focused on finishing strong—completing ongoing projects, launching impactful interventions, and laying solid foundations for sustainable development.”
He further congratulated the Muslim pilgrims from Gombe and other parts of Nigeria on the successful observance of Arafat and other Hajj rites, praying for their safe return and for their spiritual journey to be accepted by Almighty Allah.
The Governor urged citizens to celebrate responsibly, show compassion to the needy, and remain security-conscious throughout the festivities.
Eid Mubarak!
