His Excellency, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, CON, Executive Governor of Bauchi State, today welcomed the Ambassador of Tunisia to Nigeria, His Excellency Mohsen Antit, and the President of the Tunisia Consortium for African Development (TUCAD), Mr. Anis Jaziri, at the Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
The high-level meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and forging strategic development partnerships between Bauchi State and Tunisian institutions, particularly through the technical and commercial expertise offered by TUCAD.
Key areas of interest discussed include:

Ambassador Mohsen Antit expressed Tunisia’s commitment to deepening subnational collaboration, describing Bauchi State as a hub of opportunity with reform-driven leadership and enormous developmental potential.
“Tunisia is ready to support Bauchi State with sustainable, mutually beneficial partnerships that can advance economic growth and innovation,” the Ambassador said.
Speaking on behalf of TUCAD, Mr. Anis Jaziri emphasized the consortium’s dedication to investment, technology transfer, and turnkey infrastructure solutions. He noted that TUCAD is poised to help African states—like Bauchi—unlock opportunities for industrialization and inclusive development.
“We see Bauchi as a strong partner in Northern Nigeria. Our aim is to collaborate on impactful projects that generate jobs, improve services, and boost local economies,” Jaziri said.
Governor Bala Mohammed thanked the delegation for their visit and reaffirmed his government’s priority to attract credible international partners aligned with the state’s development blueprint.
“Bauchi State is focused on addressing urgent needs in rural electrification, roads, housing, water supply, and energy access. A strategic partnership with TUCAD offers a unique opportunity to fast-track progress in these key areas,” the Governor stated.
At the end of the meeting, both parties agreed to establish a joint working group that will immediately commence technical assessments and develop a comprehensive roadmap for implementing priority projects.
