The ceremony, which took place at the Emir’s Palace in Gombe, was a convergence point for some of Nigeria’s most influential political and public figures. Notable among them was Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State, who represented the groom and led a powerful delegation of dignitaries to honour the families.
Other high-ranking guests included:
- Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State
- Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State
- Senate President Godswill Akpabio
- Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas
- Former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki
- Former Governor of Sokoto State, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal
The ceremony was steeped in tradition and grace, as Senator Dankwambo gave out his daughter’s hand in marriage, with a dowry of ₦1 million paid in accordance with Islamic customs.
Governor Bala Mohammed’s attendance not only underscored his close ties with political leaders across the country but also highlighted the deep-rooted friendship and collaboration between Bauchi and Gombe States. His participation, fresh from a national PDP executive council meeting in Abuja, emphasized the strategic importance of social diplomacy in fostering unity and regional cooperation.
The union of the Adoke and Dankwambo families was more than a marriage—it was a celebration of love, legacy, and leadership, drawing together past and present leaders in a rare moment of festivity and national bonding.
