Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, who also serves as the Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF), has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Sheikh Sa’eed Hassan Jingir, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ulama of Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatissunnah (JIBWIS).

Sheikh Jingir passed away in the early hours of Thursday in Jos after a prolonged illness.

In a statement, Governor Yahaya described the cleric’s death as a great loss to the Muslim Ummah and the nation, acknowledging his significant contributions to Islamic propagation, peace, and unity.

"We have indeed lost a highly respected scholar and a guiding light. His wisdom and messages of peace, unity, and faith were outstanding. His lifelong commitment to the unity of the Ummah and his legacy of deep knowledge, compassion, and selfless service will continue to inspire future generations," the governor stated.

He extended condolences to the late Sheikh’s family, the leadership and members of JIBWIS, particularly its Council of Ulama Chairman, Ash-Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir, as well as the entire Muslim community.

Governor Yahaya prayed for Allah’s mercy on Sheikh Jingir, asking for his shortcomings to be forgiven and for him to be granted Aljannat Firdaus.
