NSGF Chairman Inuwa Yahaya Attends Launch of Sule Lamido’s Autobiography in Abuja 13th May, 2025

The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, was among the distinguished Nigerians who attended the public presentation of the autobiography of former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, titled "Being True To Myself."
The book launch, held at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Conference Centre in Abuja, drew an array of prominent national figures. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was represented at the occasion by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, while former President Olusegun Obasanjo also graced the event.
The ceremony was chaired by former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, who was represented by former INEC Chairman, Professor Attahiru Jega. The official unveiling of the book was performed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Other notable attendees included former Vice President Namadi Sambo, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi, serving and former governors, members of the National Assembly, traditional rulers, and influential stakeholders from across Nigeria’s political spectrum.
Speaking on behalf of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Governor Inuwa Yahaya announced a donation of N50 million to support the publication. He further pledged N10 million for the acquisition of 10 copies of the book to be placed in the Gombe State University Library, aimed at enhancing educational and research activities.
On the sidelines of the event, Governor Yahaya described Alhaji Sule Lamido as a revered statesman whose legacy is defined by courage, principled leadership, and an unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and national development.
Being True To Myself is expected to serve as both a memoir and a guide for future leaders, documenting decades of political evolution, governance challenges, and the personal convictions that have shaped the career of the former Jigawa State Governor.
