Yamaltu-Deba Chairman Urges Parental Commitment to Education on Children’s Day

As part of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, the Chairman of Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area in Gombe State, Alhaji Abubakar Hassan Difa, has called on parents and guardians to take a more active role in supporting their children’s education.
Speaking at a colorful event held at the LGA Secretariat in Deba, the Chairman emphasized the importance of parental involvement in shaping the future of children through access to quality education. His remarks were contained in a statement signed by the council’s Information Officer, Malam Babangida Umar.
Alhaji Abubakar praised Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his continued investment in educational infrastructure and reforms across Gombe State, urging residents of Yamaltu-Deba to stand by the administration’s development-focused agenda.
Traditional Leaders Reaffirm Support
In a goodwill message delivered on behalf of the Emir of Deba, QS Ahmed Usman, the District Head of Bokna, Abubakar Usman Deba, reiterated the traditional institutions' commitment to supporting educational growth in the area. He commended the state government for ensuring a conducive environment for learning and pledged continued collaboration.

The Education Secretary of Yamaltu-Deba, Malam Usman Abubakar Pata, described Children’s Day as a moment of reflection and celebration for pupils worldwide. He encouraged parents to see education as a worthy investment and appreciated the joint efforts of the state and local government in enhancing access to learning opportunities.
A Day for the Children
Over 40 students from various nursery, primary, and secondary schools participated in the celebration, which featured educational presentations, cultural displays, and inspirational messages from community leaders.
