Bauchi principal raises alarm over unsecured school premises

The Principal, Toro Science School now Toro Government Special School in Bauchi State Malam Adamu Ibrahim has raised concerns over the school’s security, calling for immediate fencing to safeguard students and staff from potential threats.
He made this appeal during the unveiling of various development projects by the 1985 set of the Toro Science School Old Boys Association (TOSSOBA) held over the weekend in Toro Local Government Area, Bauchi State.
Ibrahim urged relevant stakeholders to address pressing challenges such as the lack of perimeter fencing, inadequate staff quarters, poor road networks, and insufficient lighting within the school premises.
He thanked Almighty Allah for the success of the reunion and appreciated the alumni’s dedication.
He reaffirmed their collective commitment to supporting the state government in uplifting education standards across Bauchi State.
Dr. Mohammed Sadiq, Chairman of TOSSOBA Set ’85, outlined the projects commissioned: the construction of a proposed examination hall,
Rehabilitation and resurfacing of a five-kilometre internal road network, renovation of classroom blocks, and installation of fifty solar-powered street lights, all aimed at giving back to their alma mater.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, represented by the State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Muhammad Lawan Rimin Ziyem, praised the association’s contributions and assured them of the government’s continued partnership to advance education.
He urged other alumni groups to emulate TOSSOBA’s commitment.
In his goodwill message, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu, described the reunion as a meaningful gathering to discuss progress and urged the government to ensure proper student placement to balance science and arts education.
The event featured the commissioning of completed projects and presentation of gifts to former staff.
