Voices That Inspire: Bauchi State Celebrates Young Female Poets
By Abdulwahab Muhammad BauchÃ
In a moment that blended art, recognition, and youth empowerment, three young female poets in Bauchi State were recently honored for using their voices to celebrate good governance.
The reward? Each received a brand-new smartphone and ₦50,000 cash—a gesture that wasn’t just about material gifts, but about validation, encouragement, and opportunity.
The recognition was spearheaded by the Office of the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, led by Comrade Muktar Muhammad Gidado. Presenting the gifts on behalf of Governor Bala Mohammed, Comrade Gidado explained that the poets’ performances had captured more than just words—they reflected the progress, spirit, and resilience of the administration and its people.
“When young people use creativity to interpret governance and development, they become powerful agents of change. These poets have done exactly that,” he stated.
Through verses that resonated with community pride and state transformation, the poets gave voice to a narrative of progress under the Bala Mohammed administration. Their works, Gidado noted, had amplified government achievements and inspired fellow youths to see themselves as contributors to the story of Bauchi.
More than a reward, the moment was symbolic—it underscored Governor Bala Mohammed’s ongoing commitment to youth inclusion, recognition of talent, and support for creative expression in shaping the public discourse.
With humility and excitement, the young poets thanked the Governor and the adviser for the unexpected recognition. They pledged to continue using their words to uplift, inform, and unite, proving that poetry, when rooted in truth and purpose, can be a powerful tool for advocacy and development.
