A Milestone in Community and Educational Development

On a day filled with inspiration and unity, the Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) proudly commissioned the POWA Model Children School and launched the groundbreaking and fundraising ceremony for the proposed POWA Model Secondary School in Sum, Bauchi State.

This monumental event marks a significant leap forward in our collective mission to provide inclusive, high-quality education for both police children and the wider community.

More Than Bricks and Mortar — A Vision Realized

This newly commissioned school is not just a physical structure; it is the embodiment of a dream — a safe space where children can learn, grow, and aspire. It represents the deep and compassionate commitment of POWA to the future of our children and the nation.

Located strategically within a police community, the school will offer a secure and nurturing environment where young minds can flourish. From foundational learning to emotional development, it is designed to support the unique challenges faced by families of law enforcement officers.

Expanding the Vision: POWA Model Secondary School

While we celebrate today’s success, we look forward with great anticipation to the next phase — the establishment of a Model Secondary School. Education must be continuous, and we recognize the need to complement our foundational efforts with a robust secondary learning institution.

That is why we are also using this occasion to raise funds and support for the next chapter of this journey. We call on friends, stakeholders, and well-wishers to partner with us in delivering this dream. Your donations — financial or material — will be instrumental.

“What is worth doing is worth doing well.”
Help us give every child a chance to reach their potential.

A Curriculum Tailored for Growth

The POWA Model Children School features a curriculum specially crafted to:

  • Support emotional and cognitive development
  • Recognize the unique challenges faced by police families
  • Encourage creativity, teamwork, and innovation
  • Include extracurriculars that build life skills and leadership potential

As the saying goes, “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” — and we are determined to create a well-rounded educational experience.

Words of Appreciation

We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to this momentous achievement:

  • To our donors, your generosity is changing lives.
  • To our teachers, thank you for accepting the noble task of shaping the future.
  • To our children, this school is your stage — shine with all your light.
  • To POWA members, your tireless work and unity have brought this dream to life.
  • To the Inspector General of Police — my beloved husband, your vision and support have been vital to the success of this project. Thank you for believing in this legacy.
  • To our host community, thank you for your warm embrace and partnership.

Together for a Brighter Future

This is not just a celebration — it is a call to action. Let us continue to build together, to dream together, and to deliver on the promise of a better future for all Nigerian children.

Because when we invest in education, we invest in peace, progress, and prosperity.

Join us. Support us. Walk with us.
